The Humanities at the IST are founded on a dual commitment to internationalism and the
information and communications technologies that are revolutionising our world as we
enter the new millennium.
Along with much else, internationalism informs our selection of curriculum content.
The traditional Humanities curriculum is too often the unconscious handmaiden of
state programmes that seek to inculcate a singular national identity. In contrast,
at the IST we are designing curricula that emphasise a critical pluralism and
reflective, analytical skills.
